About Maati

Maati is a Purvanchal focused Public Trust. It was launched in 2017 with an idea to promote folk art, ethnic culture, village craft, festive melody, traditional food and rich Hindi, Urdu, Awadhi and Bhojpuri literature of Purvanchal. The trust also aims at strengthening the educational, economic and developmental cause of the region.

What is Purvanchal?

Geographically Purvanchal covers 32 districts of the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. However, it is more of a distinct culture and way of living, which is being followed by the people of that region. Purvanchal is one of the most ancient regions of India. It enjoys a rich heritage and culture, particularly because of its association with cities like Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Kashi, Kushinagar, Prayagraj, Lucknow etc.

Our Pioneers

"Maati" is first of its kind a complete festival of Purvanchal and its folk art, traditional melody and ethnic food. It is one of those apolitical occasions, which brings together people from different background and identities. Some respected Purvanchalis are part of this initiative from day one and our pioneers include;

Maati Cultural Center

Marching from strength to strength, Maati is all set to build a Maati Sanskritik Kendra with all modern facilities like Auditorium, Multipurpose Hall, Conference Hall, Library, Amphitheatre, Crafts Hat, Members & Artists' Accommodation, Bhojnalaya/ Cafeteria, Members' Lounge, juxtaposed with village tourism for kids in a 2 acres land in NCR near Noida International Airport.
