Maati is a Purvanchal focused Public Trust. It was launched in 2017 with an idea to promote folk art, ethnic culture, village craft, festive melody, traditional food and rich Hindi, Urdu, Awadhi and Bhojpuri literature of Purvanchal. The trust also aims at strengthening the educational, economic and developmental cause of the region.
The Trust and its members will work for the development/ upliftment of the Society with particular reference to the following:
- To promote Art, Culture, Literature, Food and Tourism of Purvanchal Region through various activities of research, training, publication, Digital/ Audio-Video production & presentations, performance, event, festival, exhibition, lecture, workshop, seminar, symposium, conference etc in addition to strengthening the social, educational and developmental cause of the region.
- To open and facilitate research and studies centres, literary, academic and cultural institutions, libraries, community centres, schools, colleges, coaching centres, hostels in the larger interest of the Purvanchali students, artists and academics.
- To hold training, coaching and counselling sessions, seminars to polish the knowledge and skills of deserving students, poets, writers and media persons and also to hold cultural and educational events and award programmes at both the national and international level to showcase/ appreciate their abilities in order to achieve the larger cause of educational, literary and academic development. This includes publishing of books/ magazines/ souvenirs and making presentations/ documentaries for Radio, TV/ Video, Digital/ Internet & other communication mediums and launching TV/ radio Channels & Web Portals.
- To launch and execute special schemes for the welfare of Purvanchali Artists/ writers/ scholars and their families, specially travel concession/ concessional passes and financial support/ pensions from govt. departments/ organisations.
- To take up the health and welfare issues of needy persons, specially poets, writers, artist, media persons or any other person who is engaged in producing or helping to create standard literary and academic works and these help or assistance, financial or otherwise, may be individual or collective in the form of cash support, full or partial payment/ reimbursement of medical bills, obtaining health insurance/ life insurance policies in favour of such deserving persons or organising consultancy, check up, treatment or free medical camps as decided by the board of trustees.
- To offer scholarships and full or partial reimbursement of fees and other maintenance to needy and deserving students, academics and other persons in order to complete their studies or accomplish their local/ foreign academic pursuits/ programmes/ research projects.
