Under a historic initiative of Maati, the Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza Centenary Celebration is a year-long celebration marking the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary figure of Indian literature and cinema.
The centenary will feature 100 events celebrating his contributions to literature, cinema, poetry, music, and Indian culture, honouring his enduring legacy.
Inauguration of the Year-Long Series of 100 Events
The Inaugural Ceremony of the year-long series of 100 events was organised on Rahi ji’s 99th birthday, 1st August 2026, in New Delhi. Dignitaries such as Justice Vineet Saran and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia of the Supreme Court of India, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh, renowned filmmaker and painter Shri Muzaffar Ali, and Hindi authors Mamta Kalia and Prof. K.G. Suresh graced the occasion. Ms. Noopur Sidhu Narayan gave a fabulous musical performance on Dr. Rahi’s ghazals, bhajans, and film lyrics.
Maati’s Convener, Shri Asif Azmi, introduced the initiative and appealed to everyone for active involvement and valuable support.
